Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

I had mentioned my interest in the energy sector in engineering. Consecutively, I was shown an interesting design and the tutors asked me to interpret how the system works. The tutors also challenged me to build some mathematical equations. Ability to identify required physical equations were also tested in the process.

How did you prepare for your interviews?

I researched various websites that explain the interview process. On these websites, I encountered some sample questions and the ambigious interview became less uncertain.

If you took a test, how did you prepare?

I didn’t do extra study for the admission exams apart from the usual study for the IB Physics and Maths courses.

What advice would you give to future applicants?

Maintain your confidence as best as you can. Having an interview with one of the best universities in the world can be massively stressful. I guarantee you will perform more closely to your potential if you manage to remain calm. Even if you panic, don’t overstress about how you could have done better if you had remained calm. Remember, these tutors are very experienced in their job selecting proficient students and they will understand you have the ability to perform better in usual circumstances.
