Final thoughts

The interview is meant to be challenging - don't worry if you feel it went badly

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

2 interviews with 2 interviewers each. Each took about 30mins + general questions to test knowledge and problem solving skills. Gap in between spent in a room with some current students who were lovely and played irish snap with us. I'd stayed over the night before so I didnt need to rush in the morning.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

I was asked to interpret a graph, asked general questions based on A level biology/chemistry. Felt okay but not like it went particularly great. Discussed what I had seen during my work experience.

How did you prepare?

Reading over cases I saw at work experience and being aware of current affairs e.g what is in vet news right now and also revising the things I was doing at A level.

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

It's a good thing to feel like the interview was hard! It is supposed to be difficult and challenge you
