Take your time and think out loud.

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

I had no questions on my personal statement. The interview comprised of four or five broad questions mostly to do with designing experiments, experimental technique and my ability to problem solve and think on my feet.

How did you prepare?

I used practice papers and did extra reading. I don't think there was much that you could have done to prepare for the interview that I had.

What advice do you have for future applicants?

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

I think it's important to stay calm and take time to think before you answer any question, making sure you outline your thought process to the interviewer so they can see why you reached your answer. Pause before you answer each question and think out loud as you work it out was the advice I was given and I think it was good advice.
