Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

I was interviewed via Skype in December. I had to arrange with my university guidance counsellor to have her supervise me during a reading of an extract of a legal text and a situation. I then had the interview via Skype and took the law test afterwards.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

We discussed the extract I was given before the interview and they tried to get behind my reasoning for my answers and challenge me on my assumptions. They also introduced me to other new legal concepts and I then had to apply it to different scenarios. Questions also included suggestions for how a particular law should be phrased in order to make it more effective.

How did you prepare?

A prep interview with my university guidance counsellor.

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?
