Interviewers just want to see how you think

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

The Cambridge Law Test at 12pm (1 hour), first interview at 3pm (20 minutes) and second interview at 6pm (40 minutes)

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

First interview - Roman Law theoretical problem

Second - Summarising a judgment and explaining its meaning

How did you prepare?

Mock test online, reread the books mentioned in my personal statement, contacting current students and keeping up to date with current affairs.

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

It’s important to highlight that the interviews aren’t designed to catch you out - interviewers want to see how you think, so articulate if you’re stuck otherwise they can’t see how you methodise problems
