Final thoughts

If you don't understand something, ask!

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

Test taken: Arts-Humanities Admissions Assessment (AHAA)
Number of interviews: 1
Time between interviews:
Length of interviews: 20 minutes
Online interview: No

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

Theme was on topics in my personal statement, I'd written about eco feminism in my personal statement so the first part asked around that and we discussed what theories of feminism it related to and why it was necessary, etc. The second part was on climate change (I thought was a weird topic at the time but it's quite a big part of my modules in first year so I get it now!)

How did you prepare for your interviews?

Did lots of reading, my college did some practise but I reread my personal statement and the books I had on it, and I read the news everyday and into opinion pieces on current events.

If you took a test, how did you prepare?

I didn't that much, do some practise ones to understand the format/how it works.

What advice would you give to future applicants?

Be calm, be yourself, if you don't understand something then ask, and be passionate, friendly and chatty. Don't apologise if you get something wrong.
