Final thoughts

Don't panic

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

1 group meeting with other candidates and an academic to inform about how the interview activities are going to take place,

1 maths and physics test (inc calculus, geometry, mechanics etc), 1 interview (2 interviewers, 30 mins, very few questions on personal statement, mechanics and electronics problems, questions on hands on stuff )

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

Topics: maths and physics and geometry (circle, triangles etc)

How it felt: relaxed, helpful interviewers

How did you prepare?

For the technical questions, you should definitely look at: http://i-want-to-study-engineering.org/

Also, talk to people that had interviews at Cambridge or even at the college you are applying to.

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?

Don't panic at all; you have nothing to lose if the interview doesn't go exactly as you expect.
