Final thoughts

:)

Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

I had an initial interview with 2 people that was supposed to be more general about why I want to do my subject. I had another interview with a different 2 people later in the day that was just academic questions. Each interview was 30 mins I think. I had a test before I came for interview that was done in my school in about early November.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

In the first interview they spent about 5 minutes on my work experience from my personal statement as the interviewer was interested in the company. We had a 5 min discussion on a topic that I had to choose and prepare in advance and then just maths questions.

My second interview was split into a long maths question and then a long electricity question.

How did you prepare?

My work experience helped as they asked me about it. The academic questions they asked me were just A level content but bit harder so going over that a lot really helped. Having practice interviews at my school helped as well because they told me to just keep talking even if I didn't know how to do the question.

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?
