Remember this advice isn't official. There is no guarantee it will reflect your experience because university applications can change between years. Check the official Cambridge and Oxford websites for more accurate information on this year's application format and the required tests.

Also, someone else's experience may not reflect your own. Most interviews are more like conversations than tests and like, any conversation, they are quite interactive.

Interview Format

2 interviews. General first, then academic - with discussion of a number of works given to me one hour before, as well as a general academic chat. Half hour each, approximately.

What happened in your interview? How did you feel?

The works given one hour before, books I'd recently been reading, questions about personal statement and submitted work

How did you prepare?

Lots of general reading and listening, picked a few areas for more detailed reading. Re-read my personal statement and submitted work! Practiced analysing small passages of music.

Looking back, what advice would you give to your past self?
